The Antarctic Midwinter Festival celebrates the winter solstice (June 21 - 22) - the shortest day and longest night of the Antarctic year and each year you're invited to join the fun!

It is traditionally a time of celebration across the whole Antarctic community with friends, social events and the big midwinter dinner - or even taking a plunge into freezing water for a midwinter swim.

Chocolate Winterfest, Latrobe will indulge, inform, astound, amuse but above all celebrate chocolate as you escape for two-days from the bleakness of winter. Be indulged by events individually or successively as you immerse in this chocolate experience. Don't deny one of life's pleasures - join us at Latrobe on the central northern coast of Tasmania for this unique celebration.

The Royal Hobart Show is an annual event held at the Royal Showgrounds in Glenorchy in October. The event focuses on the rural exploits of Tasmanians with events such as livestock judging and wood chopping. Also popular at the event are show bags and rides.The show runs for four days, Wednesday through to Saturday, ending on the fourth Saturday in October.
