South Coast Attractions

Pelican Point, Batemans Bay
The Clyde estuary at Batemans bay is famous locally for its colonies of pelicans who fascinate all with their amazing aerial skills and sheer physical presence.
Perhaps the best place in the Bay to view these magnificent birds is at Pelican Point, a rocky outcrop on the banks of the Clyde opposite Rafters Restaurant on Beach Road, less than 500m from the CBD.

Whale Watching, Merimbula
In October the Eden Whale Festival celebrates Eden's involvement with whales.
The history of whaling dates back to 1843 where whaling was a major industry for the town of Eden. Whales are no longer at threat, and today we delight in playing host to these majestic creatures. The Sapphire Coast has become a popular destination for enthusiastic whale watchers. The number of whales to our waters appears to be increasing each year.
