The Lakes cover an area of approximately 400 square kilometres in size and is the largest inland waterway system in Australia. It is home to an abundance of flora and fauna and is a bird lovers delight. Take a boat cruise and enjoy the experience of seeing some native wildlife in their natural habitat.
Ninety Mile Beach separates the ocean from the lakes and is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in Australia. You can enjoy fishing, surfing, snorkelling or scuba diving. The kids will love searching for the world's largest terrestrial invertebrate (worm), which is native to the Gippsland Region. They can grow to an amazing five metres in length and make a gurgling noise as they burrow through the soil.
The Croajingolong National Park covers 1000 kilometres of coastline and hinterland offering a variety of activities from bushwalking, spotting native plant and animal life, to surfing. Take the Alpine Road through forest and national park towards Mt Feathertop and Mt Bogong. Great for skiing in winter there is also fantastic cycling, fishing and canoeing in the warmer months.
