The weekly roving markets of the Byron area are famous for their range of produce, new age funkiness and great atmosphere. Byron Bay, The Channon and Bangalow have the biggest and best markets on the first, second and fourth Sundays of each month respectively.

Byron Bay Markets, Byron Bay

 

Byron Bay's craft and produce market, held at the Butler Street reserve on the first Sunday of the month, is one of the best in the region. Covering an area of a few acres and arranged in orderly rows, the market offers a vast array of handcrafted wares, locally-grown produce, and artworks of every kind. It's best to get there early and allow a few hours to take in all the stalls, indulge in some fresh nourishment and feel the culture.

 
Bangalow Markets, Bangalow

 

Bangalow is a town just east of Nimbin and west of Byron bay. The village has an historical treasure. The markets on the 4th Sunday of every month are a gathering of locals; a get-together of artists, artisans, bakers, victuallers, therapists, farmers and friends. pick ups ome great local arts and crafts.

 
The Channon Markets, The Channon

 

The Channon is a small village to the west of Byron Bay, in the hills near Lismore. On the second Sunday of each month, the whole place comes alive with the market.
