Turtle Watching at Mon Repos Beach Turtle Watching at Mon Repos Beach

Mon Repos supports the largest concentration of nesting marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland and is one of the two largest loggerhead turtle rookeries in the south Pacific Ocean region. Nesting turtles are best viewed after dark near high tide, from mid November to February hatchings are best viewed from January to March between 8pm to 12 midnight. Admission charge applies. Located between 25km and 95km south east of Bundaberg. Experience an abundance of wildlife and pristine beaches. The Park provides opportunities to retreat and relax while at the same time exploring the various coastal habitats and wildlife.

Sandy Hook Reserve Sandy Hook Reserve

Sandy Hook Reserve is located on the southern bank of the Burnett River. It is a popular area where the public and boating groups obtain access to the Burnett River. The Bundy Thunder powerboat race event is held at this location each year.

Lady Musgrave Island Lady Musgrave Island

Lady Musgrave Island is located 52 nautical miles off Bundaberg’s coast. It is renowned for featuring the largest, navigable coral lagoon on the entire Great Barrier Reef. There are numerous tour packages, which include glass-bottom boat rides, whale watching, snorkelling, scuba driving, smorgasbords, island walks and fish feeding. Lady Elliot Island Lady Elliot Island

Lady Elliot Island is a popular destination for people with an interest in the Great Barrier Reef and the natural environment. The unique island is world heritage listed and is located only a 25 minute scenic flight away. The Island offers day trips including lunch, snorkelling, island walks, reef walks, whale watching and turtle tours (seasonal).
